Bangkok round One

Shit. Where do I start?

This is Khao San Road, right around from our hotel. As Shai tagged it, "Frat Lane", which isn't too far off, circut music playing until 4:30 in the morning.

Thats right friends, its a "fish massage". There's a video of me laughing so hard I can't talk.  Is that an accurate enough description of how it felt?

our first food on a stick.  hands down food on a stick and in a bag=amazing. who knew?

view from the stairs up to our first room, which was four flights up. my butt and legs thank the Sawadee Inn for room #415

my Bangkok b-fast:  boiled rice and chicken

midnight noodles the night we landed

this is where I am

cuteness

pulling money from my bra, which I relised a little later might not be very culturally appropriate.  still working out where to put my money since i usually don't have pockets

grilled plantains! YUM!! (food on a stick=delish)

thai coffee

the shrine we visited the first day.  it was built for a princess and had a spiral staircase up 5 floors. totally princess-y. loved it.

2nd floor of princess shrine with Buddhas. every floor you could walk all the way around, like every floor had a wrap around porch. amazing architecture.

iron roofing of princess shrine

first lunch in Bangkok.

cats are everywhere. i mean EVERYWHERE. shai calls them cRats. which is about right.  this was my first cRat friend, that liked me during lunch.  it was a baaaaaby.

my first tuk-tuk ride to china town for dinner.

they drive CRAZY. i love it. and it works. and nobody gets hit or angry.  how can we embody that mentality folks?

china town!

cool huh? (china town, Bangkok, Thailand) my favorite part of Bangkok

fresh pomegranate juice

more food on a stick (do you see a pattern here yet?)

pomagranate juice, better than the orange juice. so good.

dinner in china town. tom yum kai soup and a fresh fish in basil something something.

the eye ball

and the first bite goes too

a little gooey
but in the end so good. obviously

thai desert mini crepe tacos

So this was day one. There's more to say and more pictures, but for the sake of keeping up, here you go.  Miss and love you.  Bangkok day 2 soon.
